I honestly find his new anatomy to be a more major change, but people always bring up the eye colour. It's funny in a way. 2006 Sonic would still look horrible with all-black eyes.

Sonic 4, no doubt, even though Tails and Metal Sonic's presence in the game has not been confirmed as of yet. But we'll also have to remember the game is in episodes, some of which may 're-introduce' some of the classic characters.
