Aquamizuko's PokΓ©mon Type Meme: aquamizuko.deviantart.com/art/β¦Update: I may remake this someday now that there are more 'mons and most of my favourites have changed over time.
Quite possibly the longest amount of time I've spent on any one picture thus far. Drawing and colouring them all took around 12 hours, from start to finish. Phew, I'm beat!

i dont judge a book by its cover,and i dont hate the new ones for being new, i hate them for being idoitic, i gave them a shot and there designs are too annoying, pokemon has gotten to far into cg crap and the only reason anything past gen 2 exists is to continue the series, the first 251 are better because of their design and there are no rediculous godmons and stupid ideas for pokemon like the regis or fricken elves,

I get how you feel, but if you think about it, the old ones aren't any better as a whole. No Godmons? Ho-oh can revive people from the dead, Celebi can travel through time, Mewtwo possesses incredible psychic abilities. I agree that Arceus was a rather dumb move to pull off, but that doesn't mean the rest of fourth gen sucks. And you complain about the Regis? How are they any different from the legendary birds or the beasts? Sure, they're mechanical, but that's just another design quirk that makes them different from the others. Would you rather them make a second set of the same old thing? And yes, I don't like the elves either (they're too similar), but I just ignore them, is all.
Give the new PokΓ©mon a chance, I think you're just saying that because you're growing up. PokΓ©mon isn't going anywhere and there are still good and bad designs like in the past. At least you should respect the new generation for giving a bunch of older PokΓ©mon another chance in the form of evolutions. Sure, they might look a bit weird (Electivire, Magmortar), but there are some totally awesome ones (Togekiss, Yanmega, Weavile). But best of all, it helps people remember the old generations again, the PokΓ©mon that would've become entirely forgotten.

i see where you're coming from but i did in fact give gen 3 and 4 a chance and i realized that in game the first two gens were given the short hand on statistics, they beefed up the newer pokemon to get more people into the game and in doint that ruined the series for me and more people. what i enjoy most about pokemon is the occasional ability to be "real" in the sense visually not powers and still be recognizable.
the difference is with the regis is they serve no purpose and they have no soul. i try to ignore the newer ones but its impossible because everytime you look up pokemon you see a new one and not the originals.
the evos are stupid, tangrowth, magmortar, rhyperior, and others look like they were conceived from bad doodles of there pre evo, personnally the only evo i like is electivire but the rest are just, bleh.
i do respect the newer pokemon in the sense the carry on the saga.

When a new generation comes out, people draw PokΓ©mon from it, to keep up with the times, so to speak. If people just stuck to drawing PokΓ©mon from the first gen, for example, there wouldn't be as much variety in the art.

Here's an excerpt from Bulbapedia that explains the story behind the Regis:
"Regigigas was apparently worshipped at one time, alongside the other three, by ancient people. Due to it being so powerful, Regigigas was sealed away in the basement of Snowpoint Temple, while the ones it created were spirited to the far-off Hoenn region and locked away in three stone structures, which were then sealed themselves. A message was left in braille to whoever would come to discover the Sealed Chamber, whose only access was via an underwater cavern, in the hopes that one day the PokΓ©mon could be tamed."

And I can't believe there are people who hate on the new evolutions for being bland and uninspired when the first generation had Dugtrio, Magneton, Poliwrath and Electrode, former two being three of the same thing and latter two being a bigger version of its prevo with an angrier expression / reversed colouring. Then there's Charmander, an orange lizard with a fire on its tail, Oddish, a blue radish with feet and Ditto, a single-coloured lump of something with a face. The designs are getting more varied nowadays, if anything. But to each their own.

thats what they were trying to get across in the first season, a pokemon doesnt have to look incredible and complicated to be special. thus the reason bulbasaur never evolved. they were given a personality, with electrode yeah, its voltorb reversed and voltorbs a pokeball with an angry face but its the trying to figure out if it was a pokeball or not. you have a point with the dugtrio, magneton thing because its 3 that grouped together( they never showed one evolve, they did once, with a magneton, three magnemites just went near eachother and they said something new).

Yeah I do understand, and I'm not trying to force the new gens down your throat. Sorry if it sounded like that. It's just I know many people who hate on the new ones without a proper reason, and it ticks me off. First they play the early gens because it was the cool thing back then, now it's all "boo-hoo pokemon sux its for kids" and so on. The PokΓ©mon games have stayed mostly the same, I think that's why some people diss the new generations. Yes, some of the legendaries' designs are more complicated than the old ones, but that's a matter of taste. Some still have the same flavour as the previous ones, while some take the series a few steps further, in a good or bad direction. Another common complaint is that the new ones "aren't based on animals" and so on and so forth, but if one actually does look through the dex, they'll see the birds, fishes, the plants and the machines, just as with every other generation.

the last part is true, the whole thing is to just the last part is what i wanna bring up. what is meant really by it is they arent as based off animals as the originals. like you dont have to really think but think none the less on the newer ones and what they were based off of, look at tauros, it IS a bull basically. just to bring this up but do you or anyone you know think electabuzz/vire are based off a monkey. i recently looked at my electivire and the electabuzz i cought in platinum and yellow(nostalgic reasons) and i saw an electric monkey, do you?
i dont know why but some sinnoh pokemon are growing on me, not alot but im starting to have gliscor and porygon-z grow on me. who know maybe more.
btw i dont feel like your forcing it down my throat, i just feel like your defending something that needs defending, that is what you're doing right?

No, I don't really see a monkey in Electabuzz. I checked Bulbapedia and came across an interesting line.
"Electabuzz was likely based on one of the Japanese oni who was a horned ogre who wore tiger-stripes and was sometimes depicted as a god of lightning and thunder."
And I wouldn't say Sinnoh PokΓ©mon need to be defended, but I feel they shouldn't be disliked more than the rest, either.

I use both Bulbapedia and Serebii. Serebii provides faster access to all the gameplay-related stuff while Bulbapedia is more for general information. Both good sites.

one thing i forgot to say, you know yanmega is based off a character from godzilla, i dont remember its named but i used it a hell of a lot playing godzilla, unleashed i think for the PS2
