Description
The third of my `Saisons de Japonais` series. Pen and ink on a pencil sketch. Figure using stock from [link] and various design work taken from yukata patterns/original. The calligraphy reads `Spring Flower Viewing` (hanami) and the smaller script to the left is my signature.Related content

No, I scanned it and then cleaned it up in Photoshop. (Cropped and adjusted the contrast to make the blacks stronger and sharper, and the white a little more clean.) Thanks!

My sketchbook is a ring-binder, and when I scanned it, the binding meant that corner wasn't pressed against the scanner like the rest of it, so it made a shadow. And I wasn't sure how to clean it up. You can see the same shadow in roughly the same place in all the drawings. Eventually I'll cut them away from the binding, I guess, and then I might rescan them.

That's very beautiful. Nice clean style and a strong visual elegance in the composition. Fine details and contrast. Excellent form.

Thanks! I like anime, but I prefer a more realistic style in my own drawings.
Living in Japan, I`ve been really inspired to do this series of drawings to reflect different activities during the four seasons - bright festivals during summer, taking hot springs in winter snow, going out to view the spring blossom. For the last one, autumn, I`m planning a tea ceremony theme...
