Description I decided to stick with frame-by-fame animation whenever I plan on making some kind of movie with flash, I just can't get down on how people are able to motion tween and make the characters' arms and legs move around, while walking down a street, and while lip-syncing. I used up most of my time last Saturday finding out ways to use motion tweening in such ways but I half-failed for the most part. For now I'll stick with frame-by-frame, and I will probably use the motion tween for all sorts of other tasks.

Here is a short little draft-quality animation I made, nothing too special. Adding shadows wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but the coloring process in general is time consuming, but I am happy enough to see this as result.

hmm...only thing I can think is they are using tons of different layers...but I'm not a Flash expert XD I only use tweens to move to different scenes

More so, multiple frames is what I used, thus the name frame-by-frame.

Motion tweens are nice and shape tweens are awesome but difficult to pull off great results most of the time.

Then again I do have a drawing tablet that brings up extra convenience, it makes it much easier to go through frame-by-frame frames which the frames can be drawn on easier frame after frame... whoa, hope I didn't loose you there. XD

Hey, that's pretty good! All of my GIF animations have been FbF, so I know what it's like. Though working with GIFs is much more of a pain. xD I hope that when I get Flash I'll like the tweening. xD

Your animation looks great! It reminds me of many a cartoon that I watched back in the day.

Thanks, and I agree that working with GIFs can just be as worst. In most cases, motion tweening does help you out and it does indeed save time and effort.

I'm glad you find my animation great, even though it's quality isn't too good.

I suck at Flash, especially at making correct body motions.

Nice, are you going to make flash cutscenes for MOTHER SAVIOR?

Thanks, and I am indeed going to make flash cutscenes out of MOTHER SAVIOR, but they won't be of use for the actual game, if anything they will be used as reference of the cutscenes at most.

I see. (I'm not a pro at Game Maker, but is it possible to add flash cutscenes?)

Yes, I know for sure that you are able to do so, but you would probably have to export the flash as an .avi or something along that.
