Description A flash RPG game I created, specifically design to be played on the PSP.

I'm not able to get too visual with the special effects and such in order for the gameplay to go on smoothly on PSP and making it playable in the first place.

Sam and Max are (C) by Steve Purcell
Title Screen Music came from UNLIMITED Saga
Victory music came from Tales of Destiny Remake.

A lot of people do fond the battle tune, as I've come to notice.

That is a great demo or WIP, but I like that you used your own sounds in this, I guess that the menu music and battle music are your own, am I correct? I also guess that the song from the eye boss, would be used again in Mother Savior too right? Anyway, that is a great demo, I wonder how far you've been with this serious now.

Hehe, as long as you gain the basic experiences of Flash and Actionscript, these kinds of games are fairly easy to create.

I just have no idea of actionscript.. I can't find a tutorial online ;

I see, well it would figure there would be a website filled with tutorials dealing with Actionscript. All I can now say is that the language is similar to C++ and GML.

that opening music is from La Pucelle Tactics. maybe you should mention that in your description. you know, for copyright reasons.

Actually it's from UNLIMITED Saga, the title screen music of it. La Pucelle is a great game though, hehe.

I guess in order to be safe and such I shall do so with all the music.

It can be tough to learn Flash from the start, but as long as you learn the basics of Actionscript and understand the basic systems of an RPG (HP, STR, Exp, etc...) it's actually fairly easy to get something like this created.

Back in the days I though website coding and such was complicated enough, Actionscript puts in on a whole new level now. I'm just glad I grew natural to all of this or else I probably wouldn't had advance this far onto my programming skill.

Thanks! I can't get enough of the two and the series itself so why not make a flash RPG starring Max? (and possibly Sam in the later versions)

This is epic fun! First of all, the skill qoute is PERFECT, the lvl up music sounds familiar, and the Ugly Eye battle music sounds really catchy. You wouldn't have happened to have created those, by any chance?

Oh, and the one hit KO on the Boss at lvl 12, gives a feeling of accomplishment. Will you possibly be updating it, fighting a floating eyeball over and over might get a bit tedious! Might I also suggest a possible guard function, or item use? Guarding would recover a little HP or something if no items..

"Freeze entre! We're packing heat!"

Hehe, glad to see you like how things are turning out. I can assure you that the next update will provide a few more new additions, more to common sense there will be new enemies and bosses. There will also be a skill window in oppose to how Max can only use his Flamethrower skill, so multiple skills are on their way. As for guarding, I was actually thinking of adding the function so let's go with that, the same goes for items as healing during an intense battle would be very convenient. Who knows, maybe later I will be able to add in some kind of shop or a whole inventory system and character changes so us players can also play as Sam, or maybe even both at the same time? The possibilities are generally endless, but the only matter that is limiting me from going about with crazy special effects and such is the PSP. This game was specifically made for the PSP system.

I made the battle tunes and the level up tunes myself with using FL Studio. If you would like, whenever the chance is given to me I can always send you the full version of the particular song that you find catchy.

I dedicated myself for awhile and leveled up to Lv. 24 and I was also playing the game through the PSP I have (Where some amount of lag lies). I was able to do above 1000 damage, awesomeness.

I only played to lvl 22, but DANG that's some firepower hitting 1,000 something damage. Which shows that you didn't fail at programming it, because of the fact it keeps going beyond a certain point. Must have taken you a long time just doing that, the animations are hard enough, but the system really must've taken some time, not to mention the music. And it works somewhat well for the PSP? Good to hear.

I just might take you up on that offer! FruityLoops Studio, by any chance?

Wow, I'm not the only one that tried that!

Indeed, the program I used was FruityLoops Studio.

Ah, thank you, that works perfectly! Nice remix, too.

Intruiging, is it somewhat dificult to get used to? And how large is the array of different instruments applicable to the program?

NessStar3000 In reply to zankotsu22 [2008-08-21 19:22:38 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, it's actually one of my best tunes created with the program so far.

As long as you play around one what the program already provides, you are bound to create some catchy tunes. I recommend using Sytrus, by far in my opinion they store in a great set of instruments for your use. Trumpet, guitar, synth, you name it.

zankotsu22 In reply to NessStar3000 [2008-08-26 22:15:02 +0000 UTC]

It sure is catchy! I should mess around with Mairo Paint til I get it...

Thank you for the advice, I'll try and take that to my advantage. You really do a well job with the program, how have you been accustomed to it?

NessStar3000 In reply to zankotsu22 [2008-08-28 21:19:38 +0000 UTC]

Well for starters, all I've really done with the program in the past that really supported me to get into my current level is basically messing around with the program on what it has in store for you. It didn't take me long to find out how to import midis and then replaced the midi-quality instruments into awesome Sytrus/SoundFont-made instruments. One thing to keep in mind is the program's "Piano Roll" mode, one of the greatest features it has.

Hehe, this isn't all of what the true game has in store. The real deal with provide a couple of more awesome features and buttons for players to have fun with, a hint of diversity always makes a difference. I'm glad you like it how it is at the moment though, all I can say is that the upcoming versions should be just as fun.
