I think--like everyone else--that the white background works perfectly with this fractal.
It gives it a sense of mystery, of ghostly elegance, and an unique look becuase I feel like I'm not seeing all of the fractal. That last part is what makes this particularly interesting--like the fractal vanishes partly into its background.
I think that makes it much more delicate and unusual compared to what it might look like on a background of any other color.

Ghostly elegance is exactly what I was going for. The vanishing thing didn't happen with the black bg, which is ultimately why I changed it. I guess I made the right decision.
Thanks for the comment!

oh WOW that's gorgeous! very unique for a fractal too - not a recognizable design or template (not sure what to call them - I know there's a name but I'm at a loss at the moment
). Serious talent is what you have my friend
congrats on the dd!

Wow. This to me seems ominous in a way... beautiful on the outside, with a deep glow ithin, spreading out across, breaking free in a complex web-like openning--perhaps destroying the simplistic white that was once there, but at the same time creating something so incredible that the viewer cannot look away.
In other words,

I've been staring at this for a while, trying to focus on one thing for more than ten seconds. It's not working. ^^
This is fantastic. I'd like to learn how to do this.

Yeah, fractals tend to do that. The trick is to figure out the pattern, then it makes sense

It's a bit off-center in the print version -- I've got to go back and edit that. Thanks, Claire!
