Description Just thought this would be fun to post. XD
It's my crazy-ass desk set up where I spend 50% of my time and DRAAWWWW STUFFFS.

Now you may be asking yourself, Nestly! You can't possibly need so many displays!!
And to that I say YES I DO. One is the Cintiq, but as you can see, my cintiq is quite small so I end up missing many details since the screen is so small and the display is not that bright. So I have it connected to my bright monitor to the left there so I can always look up to see how it's looking and make sure I didn't miss anything!
Monitor in the middle is for surfing the web, and watching the Walking Dead while working on the cintiq, lol.
The right monitor is usually used for Netflix while I'm not heavily involved in a drawing project, or as seen here, I use it as a reference to what I'm drawing. (Such as the photo of the dog) Which helps a lot!

SO I NEED THEM OKAY. D8 Waahh.
I'm super serious 'bout my arts yo.

Other key notes:

Bumblebee the Computer
Pillow underneath desk where Pixel's spot is. (my dog)
Framed Portrait of Deku & Pixel on the wall I got from WhiteSpiritWolf ! 8D
Dog treats! (For everyday use)
Random Zelda fabric
DA messenger bag before the store closed! I loves it.

That's it man I don't really decorate my desk like most artists. It's more practical than anything.
Now my GAMING ROOM.... that's a different story, haha. (I took over my roommate's livingroom kinda sorta... 8D)

heheh It's true! We humans don't live the same ways anymore. I think we need the direct-brain-interface to replace monitors. You know, like in sci-fi shows, complete with all the weird disconnected from reality stuff of course! XD

Of course, not everyone can or should make a career out of art. Sometimes it's best just to draw because it makes you feel good to create something. But you seem to be doing a good job of balancing both of those things. I'm really happy when I see an artist that puts their joyful heart into their work. Even though you say you are sad on the inside, I believe there is still a part of you that is playful and happy. Keep that part of you alive!

Hrmm...maybe I've seen your figure collection already when you made a video of your room some time ago, but I don't remember. Maybe you should show it to us again.

Three roommates? That must be difficult to maintain the peace, so to speak. Especially if you all share the same common area! But I do understand money is really tight for you right now.

Pillows are soft and don't move around very much. People are much less so.

Hahaha yeah I still see myself as a hobby artist since I only make a little bit of money. Certainly not enough to live off of at all. But it's something for now!

Ahhh just trying to live through my imaginative characters. Kind of all I have right now is my story-telling.

OH YEAH I forgot about that video, lol yep it was probably in there. My whole desk setup is moved downstairs since that video though.

We all moved our computer desks down her last fall so we could all enjoy the wood burning fireplace. But now we're almost out of wood. But yeah it's fine. All the guys are pretty quiet/introverted. Nothing crazy. Just some analness every so often from one but we all get along most of the time pretty well. No drama.
MUCH better than when I lived by myself! Now THAT was depressing, haha. I don't think I could ever live alone again.

Aww, you might not be making a living from it, but you still make art that people buy from you. I think that makes you a professional. Your characters are beautiful, cute, and interesting. I can relate to many of them. <3

So you have just a fireplace? No wood stove? Oh you're missing out without a wood stove! Those are much more efficient, able to give you a lot more heat for your wood. But now you're running out, how sad. Sometimes you get lucky and find someone that just wants to get rid of their wood. (Though this usually happens in the warm months I think). Otherwise, yeah you'll probably be out around $300 to have a chord of wood delivered.

I lived alone for about 7 years in my early 20s. *sighs* What a waste. I may have to do so again, depending on future circumstances. I don't want to be alone any more, I get so lonely now. ;v;

Ohhh wood stove? Never even seen one before. That sounds like something you'd never see in any modern town/city, haha. I barely even see gas stoves anymore. But that would be neat!
(I actually don't even know anyone else that has a wood burning fireplace even around here)

And lol yeah there's no way in hell they're going to fork out $300 for wood. Especially since I'm the only one who REALLY likes starting fires.

Yep same here! Since I was 19 and my mom kicked me out. And it sucked balls! Never again unless I have no choice. It's not affordable anyways so why even bother?

PFFTTT only cause I had just setup the third monitor and cleaned. xD It's usually gross with used tissues and food plates and shit, lol.

XD I just have drawings EVERYWHERE. Along with some pencils, my camera, my laptop, my tablet and a few other things.

I'm not too good with being tidy.

Oh haha well I don't do much traditional art at all. Digital is cleaner! 8D
But when I'm doing painting or clay work or my stupid perler bead stuff my desk is just cluttered and messy as hell.
Traditional art is just messy in general I think. xD

I CAN'T IMAGE BEING A PLUSHIE ARTIST OMG.

OmbraniWolf In reply to Nestly [2016-01-14 07:20:05 +0000 UTC]

True, but I always like practicing my traditional skills.
That is why I do my painting and sculpting elsewhere. I'd make too much of a mess on my desk.

I have done some plush making and I have to move things to make room (thank goodness I sew by hand, I don't need room for a machine), and I always end up with pattern pieces, fabric, and thread everywhere. It must be sooo messy being a plush artist. XD

Oh man hand sewing infuriates me so I can definitely appreciate the fact that you do it. xD
I need a new sewing machine if I ever want to try plushies again. Mine gets jammed easily and is just generally real shitty, lol.

But yeah I know most plushie artists have to have an entire room dedicated to it! Haha.

Ah, that must be frustrating.

I can just see the room in my mind's eye. So messy. XD
