Just messing around with Gradient Maps in Photoshop and making my own brushes.Don't like how the animal blends so much into the environment but it was a fun relaxing painting to mess around with.
My goal is to do at least once of these a week just for loose experimenting.
From a Wallaby I took at the Seattle zoo!

You said you don't like how the animal blends in so much, but I actually think it's really cool! It takes your eyes (and brain, I guess) a little longer to make it out.. and there's something cool about having to 'search' the painting for the subject

Ohhh, the intense colors definitely give it an other-worldly feeling. I do appreciate how fuzzy he looks, Far too pettable, but alas, I cannot pet. While the same color, I think the difference in texture (fuzzy wallaby vs smooth grass) makes it stand out pretty well!
