I just realized that I already did a lot of pieces about dragons but none of them showed the dragon doing what they do best: flying. So I decided to remedy that. And now I found some ways to make my image appear less saturated, I'm happy with the final looks. Design of the Gold Dragon is that of D&DIt's the Gold Dragon, Li Jeng and the tiny figure riding her is the French freelance journalist, Jerome Lebois. The colours and lighting are superb! I have problems myself even with painting in monochrome, I don't even dare venture into dual colour schemes >.<

A nice testing-stone on a gold (試ιη³) for the dawn, yellow scales, and dirt hills. These are very hard to stand out without strong shapes and shades.

You couldn't ask for more from such atmosphere. Only one thing is, the shadow looks plain, and somehow blocking the details like a transparent block more than a natural shadow. The shading looks fine, nice and crisp. And finally the scene, I'm not to blame you or something, but I must admit it's looks like a rough stroking with weak colors. Better try to shape up the edge of the hills would be better.
Still, opinion is just a opinion, you're already did well enough with it.

Aha, and how would you have improved it? Use a harder brush for the edges of the mountains? And use stronger colors there as well?

Thanks, the wings are a bit like that of a manta ray. So the gold dragon "swims" through the sky.
