Description With a savage leap, amplified by a downstroke of his wings, he landed in the midst of the frenzied herd. He let out a deepΒthroated roar, and the small herd of sheep bolted from their corner. Most of the wooly beasts swerved to plunge back towards the other side of the field. The white dragon leapt again and cut across the path of the beasts, bellowing a second time. The twenty or so animals wheeled in a confusion of dust and churnning hooves and headed in the opposite direction. For a fleeting moment, Balloch could hear the splintering and thrashing of their frantic passage beneath him...

It's the white dragon Balloch, a character from a story I'm writing when I have some free time on my hands. His design is based on the D&D white dragons. He stole the Imperial State Crown from the Tower in London and now wears it around his neck on a chain, earning him the nickname "Crownsnatcher". Done in CS3, wanted to experiment a bit with different filters to change the mood of the image.

Found out White Dragons hate the heat and fire. You know what that means...

Let the Promethium fire burn these evil dragons to a cinder, oh and lots of yelling too.Β

Sure they don't like the heat, but a flamethrower doesn't have that much range, so you'll have to get pretty close to the dragon and they're smart enough to recognise a flamethrower for what it is, meaning you'll be a priority target.

They can also use napalm, thermite, and white phosphorus on them.

Depends on if the dragon deserves it or not. But you know how it is when it usually comes down to chromatics.

Lamb lives matter too!Β Β

This is a great artwork, love the title

If I can offer minor critique, something with the shadow isn't working.Β  When I looked at the thumbnail it look like the dragon was standing on a rock overlooking a distant landscape.Β  Perhaps the cast shadow is too dark?Β  I can't actually tell.Β  If you're working with layers it might be an easy fix as it looks like you flipped the silhouette to cast the shadow partially.Β  Hope this helps.Β  Β

Thanks, yes this was from before the time I learned that shadows aren't actually black in color.

Nomz, sheep. Did you edit a photograph for the background? Fits very nice!
The only thing I can think of is the shadow on the ground. Maybe the edges could be a bit rougher so they follow the terrain a bit better? All in all, pretty cool.

Wouldn't trust Cobra with dragons, but then again, I doubt they'd get anything done, competent as they are.

Genome707 In reply to Netarliargus [2013-01-24 23:18:01 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I've been watching the old GI Joe cartoons and Cobra was doing pretty good in its schemes. Cobra Commander would come up with great schemes and then his henchmen or woman would mess it up lol.

So, you and Ghost are fighting now or something?

Netarliargus In reply to Genome707 [2013-01-25 02:38:35 +0000 UTC]

No, we're not.

Genome707 In reply to Netarliargus [2013-01-27 20:59:50 +0000 UTC]

I don't know, ask the people who made the show. All shows and movies usually do that though cause they don't want to repeat the same stuff I guess.

GI Joe Renegades was a good modern take of the franchise, but like Thundercats, cancelled after one season...stupid tv nowadays...

Are you sure? I don't really care either way honestly lol.

COBRA!

Netarliargus In reply to Genome707 [2013-01-28 02:36:23 +0000 UTC]

If I'm not mistaken, it's based on a comic book series. In that one Cobra is actualy competent and threatening and the GI Joes actualy hit people. Though they didn't have an awesome theme song in that one: [link]

Genome707 In reply to Netarliargus [2013-01-28 02:51:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that was what I heard too, but those 80s cartoons had charm. Today, either dumb crap or very violent stuff. Sad...

GI Renegades is a more interesting take on the franchise than that...live action movie they did. Then there's GI Joe Resolute.
