It's Tholaxxius, one of the "Twin Fires", you can read the story here: The Twin Fires: Chapter 1Done in CS3, still learning how to shade properly, the red dragon from D&D was used as a reference. I'll probably turn this into a character reference sheet someday

Size does matter, I wanted to give the impression that he could squish you at any moment you annoy him and that doesn't work when you're small.

Ah well, I've seen a lot of stories here where the dragon is not much larger then a human. Maybe it's just me but for some reason they don't come off as very mighty that way. Size does matter sometimes. Besides, it's a lot more difficult to "fit in" into normal human society like that. Wich is what I had in mind.

Just like you,i don't hear of any huge dragons in stories much,normally they are well..,yes not much bigger than humans or smaller (like in the fire within books by chris d' lacey)

It can get worse, in some they just keep going to school and hang out with their friends like nothing happened...while in dragon form.
