Description
There's an epidemic here; a disease that has been swarming the interweb for far too long. The interweb is filled with people of different personalities, ethnicities, ages, intelligence, and so on and so forth. However, those who take the interweb seriously are doomed to use a weapon that proves ineffective to the majority of the interweb society as people mature and just grow up with experience of what life is. This weapon is "sympathy." With sympathy, they back up their so-called "horrible lives" with crap like how much they suck at everything, or how their friends are so mean, or whatever clever excuse they can use to make you want to give them happiness to the extent of accepting an apology... or to downright smothering them with so-called "love" in order to make them feel better. If you observe, THEY make fun of themselves, THEY insult themselves, THEY caused their dislike in the interweb society to become a reality within their minds. Althought they play the blame game and create a "hatred" that is, indeed, unnecessary... they lack empathy and just believe that they are right and you are wrong. Unfortunately there is no way to stop these individuals from threatening to kill themselves in order to get suck-ups from neutral strangers. Seriously, if you are THAT desperate for "respect" or "love" or whatever, whining about your pathetic life (whether it is pathetic or not; depends on your description)... DON'T take it out of strangers you don't even know in real life by threatening to kill some guy from an online community such as DeviantART or some MMORPG or whatever. Also, whining about thinking about committing suicide... yeah, it won't work; sorry. The interweb is not to be taken seriously... and if you think it should be, then either stop lying and kill yourself, or get off the interweb and get some counseling so you can learn to grow up; I'm sure EVERYONE can agree with me.The photo is CHEAP! I don't like it... but whatever. The photo combines my study in blood splatter and color; the knife was reused from an old deviation of mine from last October about the negative theme of "rape." I also decided to not put this under "Horror & Macabre" and put it in "Conceptual" instead because the subject is really about sympathy and threatening to kill yourself just for sympathy is pathetic and stupid... especially because they purposely ignore help that's offered/given.
I doubt anyone read any of this... but whatever; there are still smart people who don't need a reality check.

I soo-o agree you with this. O_O What i hate the most is that people that have real problems actually don't say anything in internet anymore. Just because of these people... =_= But yeah, I love this pic. O3O

Yeah. I've been pretty good keeping myself out of crap like this. It's been 4 years since that photo was taken and I'm glad I haven't seen any of that stuff in a looooooong time! Thanks for the words!

You do know that looking for sympathy is a way for humans to heal for whatever reason, even if it is somthing small; and usualy people that look for attention never got enough in the first place. However there are a rare few with real problems and it is nice to talk to them about it becuase they usualy feel better after talking.
People that don't talk usualy develop more peoblems. I never talked to peopel when i was little, and i ended up stabbing my 3rd grade teacher with a pair of scissors. Luckly i was only 8 and to younge to really know what was best. So i have learned that talking helps. In the end just be nice to peopel even if they are on the internet.

Yeah, I know all about that crap. Too bad I was just expressing my annoyance with people who constantly bug me over and over and over again about the same issue we covered 32532523532532 times before. People are sympathetic in nature... whether some stranger is sick at the hospital, or just broke up with their boyfriend/girlfriend. People still feel for others. What I dislike is when people keep bugging the crap outta me so I could fulfill their "needs" by satisfying and boosting their egos with comforting words over and over again without really appreciating what is really given to them. I don't want constant whining (I don't think anyone does), which is why I felt like venting my thoughts through a cheaply done photo.
Oh yeah, and don't assume I don't treat people nicely on the interweb; if I don't like someone, there's a pretty good reason why I don't. That's all.

I understand that most of the time and people complaining about the boy/girlfirnd thing i hate hearsing about (proboly cause it is 90% of the time that is what people cry about) i never felt this way in a brake up so i don't realy understand.
And we all vent and you proboly do it better then me, (hides away for days on end not tlaking to anyone and hoping they just go away) i rather like you "cheap" photo (cameras hate me and i just do random sketches so yeah)
and just cause i can i say this: If you stayup for 4 days on end you see and hear stuff, it is neat. (Insomiacs will rule the world!)

That's quite interesting.
Though..
might I point out.
There are some who don't do it for the ATTENTION.
Yeah, sure, some do.
but it's... NOT AN ATTENTION THING.
There are those who aren't looking for sympathy.
Just thought I'd like to point it out. Too many people think it's too much of that.
Though I agree, there are a LOT that appear like that... and... that's juts pissy.
Anyway, I can here to comment 'cause I love the picture even if it's cheap. The blood spatter's done really nicely.

Thanks for the words AND opinions.
Yeah, I understand that some people aren't always looking for attention or sympathy since everyone is unique and we can't always assume they do. The point is that this particular argument is aimed towards the ones who are too blind to see that they ARE looking for these just to boost their ego. I've gotten people whining that I don't look at their artwork or comment on their cheap photos that should be seen on MySpace (aka blurry bathroom mirror photos), so basically I'm just venting out that I really dislike the fact that they blame me for not giving them the "attention" (in this case, comments and compliments; not necessary critique or advice) that they want.
That's all.

Welcome.
In that case, yes. If they blame you for that then you have every right to not like it. Those, I agree, are quite annoying... and kinda stupid. I understand your point now. Thanks.

Holy cow... reading this made me actually think about not only random people you "meet" on the internet, but real life as well. I mean... on Myspace, I have friends who make the most stupid bulletins about how their "life sux" and change their names to *feels like jumping...* As they say... suicide is a permanent fix for a temporary problem. It's not worth it, and a lot of people know this. they just threaten to kill themselves in hope that someone will try to stop them and make them feel better.
I like the picture, but the blood seems a little dark. Other than that... it's fine. I can see how it relates to your comment. I like the splatter the best.

Yeah, people use sympathy in real life as well. However, since it's outside of the interweb, you can totally find it more conspicuous because you can actually see/hear them whine. But yeah, people do threaten to kill themselves just so they can get some sympathy and attention. It's funny that they don't' realize that the more they do that... the less serious they look and will ironically get nothing in return. Wow... immature people are incredible and should get an A in PATHETIC.
Hmm... the blood does look a little more dark. Eh... I'll try better the next time I play with fake blood. Thanks for the words! ^_^

MAN I hate that shit. <___< Sometimes it seems like people don't want to get better....I hate when people fish for compliments; I just wanna tell them that it's not true and to concentrate on something they're good at instead. T___T

Eh... if you told them, they'd probably give you an excuse and blame their parents for not loving them enough or whatever. It's crap, yo. I mean, I got a death threat in May about something I ranted on 3 weeks prior to the threat... and apparently if you rant, it's okay for something to "hate" you sooo much and write about how they wish you were dead. Eh... I took care of it though with the blocking option. However, someone who actually agreed with me thinking that this unnecessary hatred was unacceptable, yeah she got harassed via Notes and I thought that was just plain uncool... ESPECIALLY online. I mean, come on! Some people aren't mature to stay on the interweb.
Take care of yourself.

Wow. This pic really goes along with what you said in your user comments. like, this has nothing to do with the internet, but a girl at my school commited suicide last year, and people wanted to make a page in the yearbook for her. and the staff would not let us because they said that it might make other people want to do the same thing for attention.
...HOW DO YOU NOTICE THE ATTENTION WHEN YOU ARE DEAD. seriously.
And, about the emo-whiney brats on the internets you were talking about? I actually ended up de-watching people because of their constant journals about how their life sucks, and they just ~*-w.a.n.t..t.o..d.i.e-*~ and stuff.
ANYWAYS, I really like this picture. I love how the words are writen and stuff. :] It's kinda scary, but I'm assuming that's the point.
That's cool that you are studying Color with blood splatter.

That's pretty weird of the yearbook staff omitting a tribute to that person. I mean, how dumb can you get? PEOPLE AREN'T GONNA KILL THEMSELVES JUST FOR A PAGE TRIBUTE IN THE YEARBOOK! I'm glad you actually read my super long comment, so yeah. The interweb has a lot of these guys actually... ESPECIALLY ON MYSPACE. Also, I read like... every journal made by the people I watch on this site... and yeah, some are just plain pathetic (I would even rudely comment, "SHUT UP AND GET HAPPY!" at times when they annoy me to the max x_X). It's been quiet though... so yeah; it's irritating when they keep at it. Thanks for the words! ^_^
