last but not least!Twilight practice silat....
I know some of you are thinking: "why silat?".
well, this one gave me quite the headache, trying to figure out what form of martial art would fit her. now, when I'm faced with a difficult work, I like to look for keywords that could help point me in the right direction. and the ones I found with Twilight are "technique" and "magic".
silat is a form that emphasizes technique such as joint locks, sudden strike, leverage and footwork. but what many don't know, is that it's also a very spiritual martial art.
I'm not talking inner ki/chi/chakra kind of spiritual here, I'm talking about using "manteras" (lit. spells) to mess with your opponents kind of spiritual. that's right, SPELLS. that's where the "magic" bit comes in. of course, I make no claim as to the validity of this. hell, it could all be nothing but tricks. but I will say this: I've seen some weird shit happened among silat practitioners in the ring...awesome shit, but weird all the same....
there alot of forms of silat, of course. but I've decided to not be specific and make it "generic silat"...hope this doesn't offend any practitioners

Recently I have been considering what hybrid weapons would best fit each of the Mane six.
I settled on the Kris Dagger for Twilight since it's blade design makes it resemble a unicorns
horn, which in turn can act as a conduit for her spells. The shaft on the other hand would be
a simple pistol, because Twilight never was one to use anything outrageous... most of the time.
Besides that I believe this works.

A dual headed Three Section Mace for AJ
Rarity a shotgun katana
Dash is electrified combat shoe gloves and joint pads
Fluttershy probably a pair of Bagh Nakhs
Pinkie will be canonete on a stick

Hers is hilarious!
I could see it might be difficult finding a weapon that would suit Fluttershy. But is cool and intersting seeing her wearing bagh nakhs. (I could imagine her wearing a disguise to go with the bagh nakhs so no one would suspect sweeet innocent Fluttershy to use such weapons. Maybe based one of the dangerous mammals.)
Alternatively, her hybrid weapon could be a crossbow on a glove.
Are you planning on drawing these weapons? Or comminsioning someone to draw them? Because I honestly would love to see them in action.

I recommend you to watch this classic (if you have time, that is): [link] . It's a film from the black-and-white era about three men who went on a quest to learn silat from an old man who was a master in it. Although it might not contain much silat (the fighting scenes include elements of wrestling and perhaps boxing), it is fairly entertaining, in a way that it's considered 'evergreen' by us Malays.
On a side note, expect the 4th wall to break frequently.

Wow, silat! It's been a long time since the last time I took up silat (like, last ten years or so during kindergarten). It's still being practiced nowadays, although the mantras are always left out since it mostly involve dark magic, and most Malays being Muslims since sorcery is frowned upon....

yeah, alot of the older mantras are dropped. but they still retain the fundamental basics and body training, though....
it's a shame you stopped practicing, it's a really good art.

Especially for me, as I'm a very new practitioner (of Jujitsu), so I still have that "New guy wants to learn everything about everything" thing going on xD

and good luck with your training! my advice is to take it slow and take it easy, don't rush trying to learn everything at once. and don't be afraid to get hurt, when you're practicing martial arts, a few cuts and bruises are bound to happen, just shrug 'em off and keep training!

I've been training on and off for about a year now (yellow belt, yay! xD ), but with a few breaks here and there for school. I have already managed to acquire an injury here and there xD
I hope to continue training out my life though, so I bet there will be lots more eventually xD
