Description
This one got its name because many people thought that my last shot at this piece was a digital drawing
But no it is fractal Art - fern fractals in particular which all the trees and the grass are made of.

The Image was created with "context free" [link] a wonderful program for generating art via a simple L-System language it is a really intuitive approach to the field of generative art so I encourage you to try it out.

Fair enough.
If I may ask though, how would you define "fractal art"? I have always seen it as imagery which clearly repeats upon itself on several levels (while hopefully also looking good), but your approach seems to avoid that direction, am I correct?

I would define "fractal art" as art that is made entirely, or to a great percentage, of fractals!
So this peace would qualify because most parts of it are made out of "barnsley ferns" (the trees the grass) which are pure fractals even if I may have cheated a bit by limiting their depth to keep the rendering time down
The rest of the image is generated through different randomized L-systems ( the Sky, the clouds, stars etc.. ) which are strictly speaking no fractals even if some of them have the quality of self similarity.
I found it quiet difficult to find the right category for my artworks because contextfree can be used to generate fractals but is not limited to doing so (I found however some interesting pieces which were made with UltraFractal which I wouldn't consider fractal but seem to pass as fractals because of the program they were made in).
The best fit would be "generative art" but sadly there is no category for that.
Maybe some more people will start to use contextfree and similar software and maybe there will be a category for generative art someday

Well said. And I do hope they make a category like that (or something similar), as not only would it help people such as yourself categorize your art, it would also help people like me who have a narrower definition of "fractal art" understand what kind of work it is.

Thats so cool. I've seen some realistic looking fracals, but none that came this close to being something recognizable as opposed to abstract. Nice work!

Although I do now remember that I saw somebody made a fractal that looks like a ship in the ocean. But I only see so much of what I think you're saying.
