Description
Franklin and Bernadette the fire trains are two new engines for the SS&RC. They were designed from the Swiss SBB Fire Fighting/Rescue Train.Up scaled to Standard Gauge, the two engines can be seen running back to back with rescue cars between them. When linked together, the two can shoot out three streams of water, each reaching a maximum of 65 meters. Their cabs are air tight so smoke can't get into the cab and muddle the fire fighter's work. However, they can be deployed as two separate engines, to take on multiple tasks at once.
Franklin is eager to learn and get into the action, but he still has lots to learn. He designed to act as the Crew Cab and Rescue Coach, allowing the safe arrival and rescue area of the firefighters, should they need to put feet on the ground. His two overhead cannons can allow the dousing of multiple targets. He is also equipped with an on-board firefight foam cannon and tank. He can also hook up to the foam Tankers should he need more.
Bernadette is just as eager as her brother, but acts more of the cool headed twin to Franklin's firey zeal. Acting as the Rescue Tanker of the siblings, Bernie carries a whopping 50'000 liters of water aboard her tank. The tank is sprung to allow the water inside to be able to slosh and not in-danger Bernie as she races to the rescue. Her smoke percing headlamp help when working in the dark, and She can also used her on-board generators to jump-start any diesels that are in need of a charge.
Separate, they are two young and helpful Fire Trains. Together, they are both really useful engines!
