The colour scheme used makes this piece seem calming or relaxed-- pinks, oranges and reds that do not clash but still have variety. The dark colours of the rocks contrast with the lighter ground behind it giving a good idea of space. The shading is good and uses a consistent light source; however I do not understand why the planet/star in the sky between the two mountains is shaded; this may be purely for aesthetic instead of being used as a light source.
The shading of the rocks and mountains is done well, it gives the painting a lot more depth than if it had been done simply or with a singular light source; although the rock in the foreground's shadow is cut off where the water meets the land, which I don't understand.
The scale of the painting is not definite-- a good thing in my opinion-- as the island may be very small or could be huge depending on what you decide it is. The river's size would suggest the island is huge, however the size of the rock in the foreground would be more common on a small island. The mountains in the backdrop add atmosphere; at least, the picture wouldn't be as interesting if there was nothing there. The emptiness of the sky seems to be calm but is still shaded and fits the same style as the rest of the piece.
Some things that could use improvement are the sun/planet; if it is a light source than it would make little sense to be shaded itself; and doesn't seem to have much effect on the surroundings. As mentioned before, the rock's shadow being cut off by the shore is a little confusing.

thanks for the critique! you seem to know a lot more about the painting than I do lol, I had no idea where the hell I was going and it started off completely different xD when the speed paints up you'll know what I mean. and yeah I think I just forgot the shadow for that other rock, oops. also, the red thing in the sky isn't a light source, I kinda just out it there to look cool, I also shaded it to indicate that because all the shadows were in a different direction for that to be a light source.

man do I love your art. All the colors are so beautiful and even with a pink palette you still manage to make something beautiful.
Also this piece really got some vaporwave idea and it's just perfect.
