Rockman in all his cute glory.... ? still getting used to photoshop, but I'm learning slowly and developing my own style (I think)I dedicate this to the great Garrett Hanna for inspiration and his past dedication to rockman fanart.

What do you do and how do you go about choosing the right colors?

Thank you! I'm actually trying to figure that out myself haha, I've been playing around with Photoshop a lot but basically I choose whatever color I wan't the character to be and then go into the color wheel properties and turn down the saturation and play with brightness. Then I go in and change the blues greens and reds, and try to mix it with the original colors' complimentary color, until it looks less vibrant I guess? After that I add a new layer and pick a light color like yellow, and I make it pale in the properties, turn down the opacity and I choose the light source direction and paint a triangle from that towards the character covering him completely. And then it's a matter of erasing where the shadows should fall. So, I guess pale unsaturated versions of the colors I want, and then heavy on lighting. Your gallery is very impressive, and I think your drawing and Photoshop skills are far beyond mine! Thanks again!
