I decided to take a look at the new Iray enabled Studio Pro 4.8 Beta from DAZ 3D and compare it to my standard DAZ Studio Pro 4.7 / Reality 4 setup. Color me surprised at the new offering from DAZ. I do not have Octane, else I would have added it to the comparison for a complete picture. Statistics and configuration below.

A comparison between Studio 4.7 with Reality 4 and Daz Studio 4.8 Beta with Iray, all on default settings and the same Scene. Reality: 183.21 S/p 251.40 kS/s runtime 58:21 vs Iray: iterations 1257 runtime 7:30.
Rendering Systems:
Iray - OC Intel i5 3570K @ 3.4 GHz (not used in render process), 16 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz and 2 x 4GB GTX 770 in SLI (EVGA FTW & EVGA SC).
Reality 4 (No GPU acceleration) - OC Intel i5 3570K @ 3.4 GHz, 16 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz & 1 Render Node: AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.5 GHz, 6 GB DDR2 @ 800 MHz
