I don't know much about the history of the Hexels app, but they have this "classic mode" in their opening menu I suppose is meant to show what the early versions of the app were like (This is currently 3.something). Call it a lack of creativity on my part, but I can't see myself using this mode for anything but maps, RPG-style.
