This was done in 2007. I might draw Prime's internals in a different way now.
Artist Notes:
Some commented that the skeleton is too skinny.
When I was drawing this back then, I had to remove some other parts to expose the skeletal frame. Other robotic elements such as larger wires, pistons and and supporting frames are not drawn. These are robots so their exterior/hide also serves as an exoskeleton.

AHHHHH no mouth?!.....personally i like the mouth he had in G2, it was sick cos they only showed it when his face was mashed in and then it looked like skeleton teeth. Nice pic by the way ^^

I never really followed the G2 series but I collected the G1 Marvel Comics (I'm an old fart).
Here they showed a dying battle scared Prime, after the Transformers' battle against Unicron. Prime's face plate was removed and you'll see no mouth/lips, but instead a device that could either be his voicebox speaker unit or a meter of some sort.
The cartoon series also didn't show any evidence of a mouth behind the plate. The first episode of Season3 (Five Faces of Darkness) revealed that some of the Transformers (in this case Decepticons) can consume energon orally. The "hungry" 'cons with no lips just consumed the energon through an opening in their face plates.
A knew a lot of transfans in the '80s regarded the concpet of Prime with a mouth underneath the plate as a joke.

I remember seeing the voicebox speaker in comics, but the mouth behind the faceplate in G2 felt like he was really torn apart, to the "bare bone" so to speak, plus the style suited it more with is more feral wartorn style.

Yea... never did quite get why recent shows have given him a silly mouth... but at least they usually have him wearing the flace plate in combat...
