Description That's what you get for high-fiving a decepticon, Wheeljack. :/

Randomly, I enjoy announcing what I do is for science. It's complete bull, but one has to admit the phrase does make everyday chores sound pretty epic.

To say your doing something FOR SCIENCE instantly raises the epic-ness level of the action ten fold while at the same time validating that action beyond all reproach, reason, or relevance (no matter how unethical, immoral, or illegal it might be).

Mad scientists do it FOR TEH LULZ.

Tru fax. Although I'm quite sure the a lot of police in the Marvel and DC universe who have to deal with the scientists-gone-bad-4-SCIENCE scenarios would argue otherwise.

True, most geniuses are regarded as madmen in their own time. Take my new personal hero, Nikola Tesla, for example: in addition to developing Alternating Currents, he invented (and I am NOT pulling you're leg here) a machine that shoots lightning, a portable earthquake machine, and even imagined the concept of wireless communication 80 years before the invention of the internet. Seriously, why are the schools teaching the children about that blasted thieving cheat Edison instead of this guy?

Unfortunate, but true.

Although, now I'm curious about this portable earthquake machine.

Personally, I believe the schools are relying on new technology to teach rather than actually teaching. I say the Socratic Questioning should be brought to the classroom more often! Make kids THINK rather than memorize.

Yeah, kids really need to start THINKING in schools instead of plain old memorization of facts (the latter of which they will more likely than not forget over summer breaks and whatnot).

As for Tesla's earthquake machine, it works by creating sonic vibrations that cause objects to vibrate until they reach a certain frequency at which the objects in question shatter. It works in the same way that some people can shatter a wine glass with just their voice, but replace the wine glass with buildings. When he actually demonstrated the thing in New York City, buildings on 5th Street (where his lab was) started to shake. But when the building HE was in became in danger of collapsing, Tesla took a sledgehammer to his device and smashed it, instantly saving thousands of lives that he endangered in the first place. The scary thing about the machine: it was portable, described as being "able to fit in a gentleman's coat pocket." Imagine what Axis could do with some of the stuff Tesla invented (THE HORROR).

I first read about this stuff in an article on Cracked.com (see "6 Spectacularly Bad Ideas From History's Greatest Geniuses" for references). They've got a whole bunch of similar articles in "Top 10 List" style too, on just about any crazy thing you can think of (they're freakin' hilarious AND surprisingly educational). Seriously, go there now, it's freakin' awesome.

Wheeljack's going to have to use some pretty mean science to find a cure for RoboAIDS.

S'kay, I'm sure if Ratchet could whip up an antidote on the spot, it'll be a breeze for Wheeljack. XD

My mind automatically jumps to G1 Red Alert when folks mention his TFA counterpart.

I think the end result of seeing him trying to cure/take care of Wheeljack would be way more entertaining.

Red Alert: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY NEEDLES?!??!?!?
