Description I think I might actually start uploading to this gallery more often. We'll see.

This is a character development assignment for my computer illustration class. The drawings were done on white paper in my real sketchbook, then I scanned in some cardboard and the binding from another sketchbook and pieced it all together, adding some digital painting to certain places. I enjoyed this project for the most part, but I would have liked to have been able to do more than one sheet of these, giving me more space to explore the character's possibilities.

Love seeing the progression of your sketches here. From the internal muscle scrutcture to the few that are finished out in digital painting. A very nice display of not only what you can do but also of this creature. I particularly like the slightly longer looking face that is present throughout, and the jump motion piece up on top is just fantastic!

lol ive made some scetches like this but never thought of uploding them like this. Thanks for sharing that idea! Might try it sometimes... Mine would be with wolves and dragons though.

Did you use and refs for the muscles and bone structure? If you did Id like to take a look at them. Might help me draw the panthers Im working on.

Anyway nice job very... Da Vinci.

Amazing! This looks like an entry a researcher and illustrator might do in a field study of these marvelous creatures. The design and coloration is wonderful and the detail is absolutely exquisite. Well done!

Swwweet! Too bad you couldn't make more pages. I guess if you really had the gumption, this could be the beginning of a good book

You made up the species, right? Assuming that...

You know that you are good an animal anatomy when not only can you succesfully draw anthros but bring into being your own species and have it look realistic.

Plus good job on the cardboard thing

Very nice high quality drawings.
A Recent study on the killing style of sabertooth cats indicates that the cats went for the throat where they could easly sever the arteries that carry blood to the brain, as well as severing the windpipe. death for the prey would be almost instant. The tests also concluded that attacks to the back of the neck/spine were unlikely do to the fact that such long narrow teeth are also somewhat fragle, and could be easly broken in contact with bone during a struggle.

I could easly envision a pride of these animals pulling down a large animal pinning it long enough for a sabertooth to get that throat bite in.

The colours are amazing on this piece, not to mention the detail in the pencilled sketches. I love how you've incorporated different markings in each of the coloured drawings.

These guys look as thought hey would actually be prowling some vast jungle somewhere.

Love it!
