After being promoted to Scientist assistant, Dr Ashley Patel, Dark Volt's chief scientist, gives Callaghan an Age Reducing injection, which permanently regresses his body's appearance by 10 years of age, yet still being the same age he is - 45 years old.

At first, he is greatly distressed and upset by it, fearing Abigail won't even recognise him, But Dr Patel insists it's a good camouflage look for him.

Despite this, Big Hero 6, Chief Cruz, and Abigail still recognize him by his voice.
