Great stuff!
I wouldn't want to live there, but a month long holiday - definitively.
Do you approve of using your art on facebook?
It'd be for a page about the book "Neverness" by David Zindell.
BTW did your artistic inspiration and pseudo come from that book, or is all that just random coincidence?

Nice rant! It's so easy to get something started when one's intentions are nothing but peaceful! And you don't need to apologise to me. It's incredible what some people think is ok these days!
Your story is pretty hilarious! You are right about what's private. Then it's funny because you end up talking about the very things you think should be private!
When I said 'live and let live; I also said as long as NO harm is caused. Fact: almost all paedophiles are straight men! Sad but true, because as long as the myth that gay men are the bad guys, people don't know who to be cautious about. I used to work in child protection services and social work - plus you should hear the horrible stories people tell me about their kids - usually the girls - getting touched inappropriately! Sick!
Children are taught a lot about it these days because there will be no one to defend them if/when (God forbid) it happens! The person will try to get them alone of course. Too awful to bear thinking about! The sickest thing about it is that though agencies screen and screen their new employees, pedos still look for jobs where children are involved. Yikes! But this is an illness that has always haunted society and I think that is why we have such strong taboos against incest, early marriage, marriage between close relatives and such!
Those two guys that make South Park are American. I should google it but when I was last down in Dallas visiting my sis and family who are mad about it (I'm not that fond of it, it's too sick and violent for me! Really!), I said I thought it was Canadian too and being Canadians living in the US, quickly corrected me on that! Lol! The stuff about Canadians is funny but it's mostly not true!
Just like the myth that "all" folks from the Middle East are terrorists! What idiocy! We are strongly opposed to racial profiling in Canada and there was a big protest about it recently but I have to admit, I didn't follow up on what happened in the legislature. I'm on a political break at the moment! Too much DA!

Well put. And funny too!
On the altar boy thing, it's true. It was a huge scandal that was happening and probably had been happening for generations. The Catholic Church was in deep trouble but they tried to hush it up as much as possible. In Canada, horrible things happened due to the residential schools started by the Catholic church for Native Canadian children. It was said that the schools were for education but I think children (who are now adults) suffered terribly in those places just because they were taken (by force in some cases) away from their families! But there were more serious problems...luckily these schools were all closed around 35 years ago but the damage remains...Every country has its shame. I was a kid then so what did I know?
Anyway, happy holidays and winter season to you! Are you celebrating anything at this time of year?

How can't I agree on what you wrote here...
I'm really sorry what "we" are doing to children. As if the danger of being abused by a pedo is not enough traumatizing, we have to tell a little child to be cautious when an adult approaches them in a certain way. What is the sin of this innocent having to hear that...? Now don't get mad at me but it reminded me of another South Park episode (no worries, I probably watched 6-7 episodes, that's it) where the priest of the town reminds the families the summer bible school and taking their kids to something like a Christian cruise ship. The parents start to frustrate, picturing priests abusing altar boys. I think that in fact happened and there was a case about it. Anyways, the parents get suspicious about the priest and they call a social worker (maybe her name was Leonie ) and she politely asks kids:
-Kids did the priest ever touched you?
-*Blank stare from the kids...
-Did he ever try to put something in your butts?
-*Another blank stare from the kids....
She goes and the kids start to talk about it. What can a priest would put in their butt? One of them comes up an idea; the butt is where you poope after you eat. So it could be food that the priest may want to put in their butt so they can poope from their mouth.. Actually one tries and succeeds...
Sure this is just an absurd cartoon, tasteless and dumb, but the tiny little message there, for the ones who can get it, is kids are kids. They take whatever information you give to them. If it's not enough or satisfying, they will explore it themselves... I believe it's a really hard work for both parents and social workers. That's why I'm very careful what I say around children. I most of the time try to ignore a conversation. I see them like a thin glass, very fragile...
It should be good to stay away from politics for a while... I'm trying that all the time but you know what they say; the more you escape, the more you get chased...
Kidding aside, I don't mind what a person thinks about me. That's his/her opinion. Someone else probably has the opposite thought about me and so on. None of us is created in a mould, and we don't expose one color to outer world. I'm not exactly the same person yesterday. It's not mood change, it's how much unfamiliar we are even to ourselves...
And Confuscius exits the stage... Lol! Hopefully sometime to Canada

Both of these takes are SWEET! Colours and features are so cold yet so beautiful. Have you been in place like this? It reminds me of the far north of Canada around the Arctic Circle (which is part of Canada). Though I dislike the cold, it's a necessary and wonderful part of our planet. You have captured those feelings delightfully!

thank you. I haven't been in a place like this, probably that's what makes it more imaginative. I live in Rhode Island at the moment and we do have plenty of snow and ice here, but nothing compared to this work. I'd like to make a SHORT visit to Arctic to take some pictures but I don't think that I'd like to live there...
Thanks again

I've never been there either except for when my parents lived in Fort Simpson (in the North West Territories, above the 60th parallel) and it's inland on one of the largest rivers in the world, the MacKenzie (named after an explorer of course!).
Many other places are like this in the Canadian winter and I've lived in a lot of those places! Just take a trip up to our very own Coastal Mountains (maybe a 1/2 hour drive from here-Vancouver) and you'll be in a polar climate. Even Vancouver at near sea level can get pretty cold.
Anyway, great image!

Wow! Thanks for the info, truely very helpful and drooling for photography. I really would like to visit Canada and Alaska but I'm afraid of Canadians... Seriously. No kidding... Okey, you wonder why. On another website someone posted in the message board that God doesn't hate homosexuals. Stupid me I posted the passages from the Bible and the Quran about same sex relations. You probably know them too. I didn't say a frikin' thing, just posted the text, and this guy from Canada marked me as Homophobic and told me that I'm not welcome in Canada, because in another message a friend of mine in Canada invited me... Jeez, man! I didn't start the topic or said anything like homosexuals must be burned, but I was crucified on a rainbow painted message board.
Tell me it's not so, please. Tell me it's very okay that a religious, straight guy from east to visit Canada. Or else I'll have this memory haunting me and South Parks episode where they wen to Canada : French Canada is the best Canada... LOL!!!
Thanks a lot...

Haha! Not all Canadians are that fanatical but there's a national debate on it going on these days - "Is it ok for people of the same sex to be legally married?". Quite ridiculous in my view, but I am very open-minded. Let those who want to get married, do so! It's an institution (marriage) that I don't have anything to do with, having chosen to stay single!
There are a lot of problems with marriage everywhere but if people want to make such a committment, many Canadians have an attitude that that matter is private unless people choose to share it and that goes for all couples and relationships. It's up to you what you tell people. I don't worry about gossip too much as I am very uninteresting and not very many people know me. This is what people mean when they say "hermit"!
As for being a straight guy from the east, you would be welcomed! Canada is an accepting country when it comes to all races, religions and beliefs! Live and let live. Eastern men are considered quite exotic, you'd be surrounded! There are tons of Muslim people here. Vancouver has masses. But then all the big cities (and many small ones) have greatly mixed, (ALL Canadians are immigrants from somewhere) populations and we all have to get along so we concentrate on what we have in common. This is pounded into the average Canadians brain from the day they are born!
Unfortunately, just like everywhere, there are bigoted people everywhere. This guy sounds like he was prejudiced in the opposite direction! As for homosexuality, there are many ways to view it beside the religious one. Though many Christians believe the Old Testament (in the Bible) was against homosexuality (and I understand there are many similarities between the two-they are strongly related), others believe that since God created folks in many different ways, with many different preferences, we shouldn't discriminate at all. That is my belief as I have many gay friends that I could never condemnas they cause no harm.
What a complicated subject. I could go on for ages about it! Too long already. Just don't be afraid of Canadians, eh? Lol! (Oh and don't believe South Park! It's a silly American comedy cartoon show. It's an exageration of things or made up completely! It's just like any other TV show. You have to be very careful about what you see AND what you read, no matter what the source. Ultimately, you have to decide for yourself, right. Just think, "peace" and differences will fade away!

Well, that's I guess what my outrage was, because I really didn't go into any debate in the beginning, but I was marked as a homophobic just because I disproved the theory that was thrown there. After that time I learned how strict and intolerant the gays could be, even more than the extremists... I really don't care how they live their life, privately. I do that, my private life is, how can I put it; private...?!!! I don't open a banner and yell "I'm a straight guy, I love women, Long live the opposite sex fornication, USA USA USA (what the heck???)" Lol! You got my point. I'm very peaceful until someone comes to me and tries to make me believe that homosexuality is very normal, moral and a healthy way of life. You wanna try?... Ehm! Excuse me? Try what? Stick up something to a place where main purpose is for exit, not enter...? I better not. The purposed duty of exit is enough painful and disgusting, I prefer keeping away anything from there except toilet paper... Wait, that's not it. When you say this the guy shamelessly asks me to justify; Well don't you do that with your girlfriend/wife...? What? Hey! Backup dude, I don't... even I do, I don't go to pub and say "Hey guys, guess what I did last night to my gf/wife..."
Sorry Leonie, I know it's too ridiculous, but that's what I went through and auch, it still hurts my brain.
My live and let live has a limit. I mean I can't let live when a pedepholia(sp?) rapes a little child and call it "consent". Whatever you say, immoral, disgusting, etc.. that molester would come up and say; I love children, I care about them, I love being with them, what is immoral about this? No way Jose that I'd approve that...
Lol! I totally forgot being surrounded because you are an eastern man can actually refer to something good. These days it means mostly; Freeze! Hands up, down on your nees f**er!!! Hahahaa! Sorry, my bad
South Park is American? How the hell I thought it was Canadian? I remember in Vh1 or somewhere, wait, Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine, they said it was a Canadian team who made it... I could be wrong... I sometimes find hilarious though...
Thanks for the nice reply

about me commenting on your work, sure I can. though remember this, or at least read my journal, I don't think I'm an artist. I gave links to those who showed great work in this website and they even post some tutorials. I'd recommend you to check those. I'll hopefully try to give you feedback as much as I can...
