Description
How I would see HMAS Canberra (D33) is she had survived the Battle of Savo Island and if the Americans would have taken "no" from the Australians for an answer. While this may look like a copy of the version done by Tomozuru, this one is somewhat different as I went for a full US Navy approach with Canberra. This includes what could be a more accurate version of Measure 12/22 camouflage (haze grey upper works with navy blue lower hull, as according to US Navy Ship Camouflage instructions of 13th February 1943) and the Supermarine Walrus replaced with a Vought OS2U Kingfisher which other than the US Navy, was also being used by the Royal Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and Soviet Navy under Lend-Lease during WWII. The notable one is the catapult which appeared missing in the original drawing, so I nicked one off HMS Penelope (97) while aided by photos of Canberra taken in 1942 showing a quite obvious reconnaissance floatplane catapult after the third funnel. For how this history, might need to read this as I don't want to copy-paste everything there to here:
