Description An early morning at Peel Godred station, located in the north of Sodor near Culdee Fell, NWR H2 class 4-4-4T No. 49 "Dalby" arrives with the morning post train from the mainline connection at Killdane, 1990s. While the line was electrified in the 1970s with two Class 71 Bo-Bo electric locomotives (brought to Sodor in the 1970s, bought a decade later) and three Class 308 three-car electric multiple units (bought in the 1980s), some services are still handled by Dalby as its solitary steam locomotive as because of his experience of working with electrics in London during his days on the Metropolitan Railway. Around this time, the NWR were in the middle of retiring certain rolling stock with the elderly LSWR and SR luggage vans used as the standard postal vans being replaced by second-hand BR Mk1 CCTs.
