Been resting on this one for a while but here is the first Japanese locomotive, the C56.

History:
The C56 class was a type of mixed traffic mogul that was used by Japanese National Railways (JNR) and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). Designed by Hideo Shima, these engines were basically a tender version of his C12 class 2-6-2Ts for branch line work around Japan, all the while sharing parts with other designs as part of JNR's standardisation (remind us of a certain UK railway?) 165 were built by five different manufacturers from 1935 to 1939, all numbered as C56 1-164, + No. 1001 built for Yubetsu Railway. During WWII, No. C56 1-90 and C56 161-164 were sent to Asia in the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway (better known as the "Death Railway"), which these were modified by having their axles shortened by 67mm to fit on the Metre Gauge (1m or 1,000mm) used by both Thailand and Burma. These locomotives were later seized by the Thailand government after the war and used by the SRT. The class continued service until 1974 when they were withdrawn in Japan and between 1976-82 for the SRT, which 32 have been preserved with 2 being operational. There are known as either "Shigoroku", "Shigoro" ("C56" in Japanese) and "Pony of the Plateau" among rail enthusiasts, especially in their native Japan.

Included in this base is the option for two patterns of deflectors, knuckle couplings for Japanese versions and extra parts to create the C56s used in Thailand.
