Description
One of the earliest interests of mine was ocean liners and the first kit I built was the Academy 1/700 scale RMS Titanic, which I was ten. About ten years have passed and that model is now lost to time but with me working my way back into an interest in ocean liners, thanks to a certain Australian YouTuber and illustrator, I decided to redo an old friend. Early last year, I bought a new Academy 1/700 scale kit of RMS Titanic, the same type of kit that started my modelling life, and aim to make it as accurate to the real ship as possible.I'm also aware of the two full-sized replicas of RMS Titanic under construction in Commie/fake China (Republic of China is real China due to being formed in 1912 compared to the PRC in 1949, and Taiwan doesn't belong to the PRC. It was its own thing and then belonged to Japan) but I doubt they will be finished before my model is completed. I'll be laughing and saying how a model started in 2022 took shorter to build than their full-sized replicas. Ironically, both have taken longer than the real RMS Titanic and I'll find it funny if my model would be completed after three years, the same time it took for Harland & Wolff to complete the real ship (remember, this is being made to look accurate as possible).
What you see is a mock up of how the model would look once completed, with the funnels and masts held on with blu-tak and the decks fitted loosely. The model still needs a few parts and even painting of several small parts and areas. Alongside my warships of the same scale, I might add more liners into the mix, both from real life and from fiction e.g. SS Monaro in her hospital ship form as "AHS Monaro" and SS Barnier. I might do updates on Titanic so you might call this the unofficial "update 1". More of this model to come.
