Description The year is 2374.

Excerpt on Starfleet Top Secret File (Serial Number undisclosed):

"On an undisclosed stardate, Fleet Admiral James Solomon authorized a raid on an important Ketracel-white production facility. Acting on received intelligence relayed by an undercover agent, three starships were dispatched: Galaxy-class U.S.S. Endeavour, Akira-class U.S.S. Valkyrie and Defiant-class U.S.S. Lisbon. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the task force of three starships successfully destroyed the facility and recovered an undercover agent before any potential reinforcement could react. It was one of the most daring acts the Federation authorized during the Dominion War. Most importantly, however, a Starfleet Special Operations team, under Admiral Solomon's order, managed to capture a Dominion battlecruiser prototype, which contained a treasure trove of Dominion intelligence. The data on the Dominion weapons obtained led to radical progress in development of an effective shielding grid against phased polaron beam, the Dominion's primary shipboard weapon. Meanwhile, the knowledge of the Dominion fleet's last known position resulted in Starfleet's first territorial victory: the First Battle of Chin'toka."

First, some statistics. This image is not the result of a single render. Due to the motion blur as well as the level of details of the picture, there were 8 layers of the picture rendered in total, weighing 6.24 MB. The layers were then put together using Photoshop, before I did some final touch. The PSD weighed 23.5 MB. Of course, it is not that terrible, but it did break my record for 3ds max works.

No, you won't see the battlecruiser or the facility here... the Federation task force had just broken through the defense line, weapons blazing, torpedoes spreading.

The level of detail may not justify it, but anyhoo: full view please. XD

Software used: 3ds max 9 and Photoshop CS3, as always, for Star Trek renders.

Thanks to for the critique before I posted this picture.

Star Trek belongs to Paramount, I think. Okay, it really does. XD

Time taken: 18 hours, over 2 days. I am working downstairs, and the TV distracts me a lot. Not that I watch it, but the noise of it does slow me down significantly.

Enjoy! ^^

I respect the motion effects, but man, that Galaxy class ship looks cool, unblurred and in all its glory...
Anyways, looks cool. Gotta love the fleet actions.

Only three Starfleetships y'know. I haven't done a big battle yet, because my PC hangs whenever I try to do that...

Nice work ^_^
Trek does belong to Paramount, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't render complete scenes all at once
