Is it based off a particular fish?
On an unrelated topic, I hate the thought of humans eating Pokemon..

It's based off a very simple European Eel.
The serpentine shape sligthly reminds me of rivers, and that's the main reason I chose that species.
Also, eels are incredibly mysterious creatures and I'm really fascinated by them.
As for the "eating 'mons" part, I don't like that either 😅 Yet eels were already bred by Romans for their meat and Italy is, as of now, the greatest eel farming country in Europe...
