Mago also means grandchild. And technically 'kowai' is used to describe something that is scary or causes fear, not someone who is afraid (which is 'kowagaru' or 'kowagari').

I know that well 😁 Kowai can be used to indicate something you're afraid of, but I know I should've put the kowagaru one. It fits better in this case.
The Mago (the italian one) part is actually an hint at its evolution.
