Thanks! I just wish I could get another one to look like it (they seem to want to turn out grainy and purple....not sure what the deal is).

yup it's called infrared. depending on what kind of camera you have, you can get a hoya r72 filter.

this actually isn't snow. it's an infrared photo. we do get snow like this in michigan though. it's pretty when it sticks to the trees, but after 4 months of snow and cold, you stop caring about how it looks haha. you can visit michigan to see it sometime and someday i'll get to visit florida to see the sunshine (never been there).

it's a filter. some cameras are more sensitive to infrared light than others. mine is so-so. i got a hoya r72 filter from ebay. very cool.

Super!
What do I need to do this with my Nikon D50? Or did you use your Panasonic?
Thanks!

NewMoonPicasso In reply to OrangeUtan [2006-10-05 20:24:53 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!! All you need is a Hoya R72 filter and whatever program has a channel mixer (preferably Photoshop). You should be able to find the filter really easy on ebay. Your D50 will work just fine with the filter, that's what I used.

Thank you very much! If you have a digital slr, all it takes is a hoya r72 filter (which you can get on ebay fairly cheap). You'll love your results!

I don't really remember. It was really sunny out so it was a pretty normal shot, something like 1/60 at f/5.6
