I have to say this has been one of the best critiques ive ever gotten. Thank you so much for taking the time, i always love hearing how people see my work. The tulip is actually my favorite flower and always had a hard time expressing why. I found it to be secretive and almost seductive in its silhouette.
I wanted to translate that into this bookmark and im so glad that it it came across the way it did.
I admit i was afraid upping the contrast would take away from the subtle mood. That might be more by an inability to control my reds more than anything xD But youre probably right more pop would have been better!
Again thank you for taking the time to break down the piece, its always helpful seeing my work through fresh eyes.

This is certainly an improvement upon the original Red Tulip Bookmark! I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with the fact that you have managed to maintain the original concept, but remembering to pull back the drama, so to speak. The drama meaning, in the original picture, her pipe smoke was taking entirely too much of the picture. Now, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is set in a more sophisticated manner while still being unique and dramatic, but only to a point. I would also like to take note of the fact that your anatomy skills have greatly improved, and your semi-realistic style has gotten more towards the realistic side.
For example, look at her dress. The folds of the dress are beautifully and believably placed. Even the way the dress itself settles on the woman's body is very neatly and realistically done.
The only thing I can say I'd change about this is that it shouldn't be a bookmark at all, I'd rather see it as some sort of wall scroll or a calendar!

i actually print them on photopaper and then spray adhere them to cardstock and cut them myself :'D

This looks beautiful! The composition, colors, and pose are just wonderful. I'm in love with the hair, its so edgy. The style of drawing and coloring is unique, and very pleasing to the eye. Also, you can really see your improvement when you compare this newer revised bookmark to the older one. Great Work! ^^
