Description
So this is my sneak preview of my Primary Weapon for Gold Coast Nova. This is dubbed Soul Reaver. The back story and completion should be within 2 - 3 weeks.
Original nerf was a Destroyed Nerf due to misuse of products so it was sanded and even angle ground down
The writings have been dremeled in.
The soul reaver part is carved out for lighting effects that are being shipped from the states.
Thanks to my baby for being my hand model <3
Enjoy the incomplete 'Soul Reaver'

This is my opinion. This looks a lot like a 'Jackhammer'. In fact, if I saw it in a movie, this is what I would assume it was, the fully automatic shotgun of death. Scary.
However, the colors seem off. The lighter grey make it look like that cheap plastic that they use for some halloween masks, really takes away from the piece. Also, the wear that you have tried to put on the weapon is... well, faded. Not quite how it would be. If you are trying to portray an old and well used weapon, make the metal kinda... patchy. I think that's the word? And also add a lot of scratching, drop impact markings, scuffs, the like. I'm a big guns person, shoot a lot, and handled a lot of firearms. This is what I see, just trying to help you out. If you want, add me to your contacts and let me know when you want advice, I offer my opinions to gun modelists for my own entertainment and it helps me extend my understanding of concept modeling. I'm usually always free to type up a detailed review.

Yeah i did go a bit overboard with the weather; this stampede has 4 layers of paint on it prior to me sanding it down the best i can
Ill make the nessesary changes (smear some back and make some more marks and stuff) and repreview it!
Again love the support from you mate
PS: Chain saw should be attached this weekend!

Oh, I was slightly off. This looks INSPIRED by the jackhammer, but I just did a side by side comparrison... Lol, I missed a bit. Structure of the upper reciever and lower grip looks similar, but everything else is changed. Mah bad. I'm not experienced with the jackhammer, never picked one up even though I have tried to find one... And I'm very good at finding weapons I'm not really supposed to have...

The surface was angle ground and sanded with very rough paper.
The with a stiff brush and very little silver paint that has been wiped off go in circular motions

A chainsaw? lol Gears of War meets Resident Evil? I can't believe the dremel work. I've got all the dremel stuff and sadly don't know how to use it, other than basic plastic cuts and a little sanding. I'd love to be able to write / engrave stuff.. eventually.
The metal look on this is great.

Dawwwww thanks!
Pain in the ass to do!
You put tool to plastic then it goes nicely then... imagine a high pressure hose loose... Not cool!
Also with the sanding and carving, its not chipping away plastic it is actually melting it ONTO the tool so you have to stop some point and chip away at the crap that got melted on and start again, also not to mention the molten plastic that sticks to you like napalm!
The metal look was all hacked parts from where i angle ground off the paint haha.
Ive found my calling: Post Apocalyptic Weaponry haha
I bought a firefly from Amazon for $20 so thats coming shortly too!
Whens ur next model?!

Oh I know all about the molten plastic, when I first got my dremel I didn't wear goggles and a piece of molten plastic pinged me about half a centimeter away from my right eye, it scared me so much I won't touch it without glasses on now. I've also made the stupid mistake of going to pulled the melted plastic off the mod straight after it's started to clump ... lol DUH... that would be the napalm you mentioned haha.
I've done a couple since I last updated DA, it's usually the last place I update for whatever reason, I usually update Facebook, then my blog, then here. I'll put them up later, I'm at work and really should get back to it!
Good luck with the Firefly, it looks awesome.
