I saw him as some kind of subject matter expert people turned to when they needed to know something. If you put it that way, though, maybe he's just recording his thoughts. He could even be writing poems in there.

the thing i wonder is how to make a character good in something and show how good the character is in it (for example the poems you said),
while I myself am terrible at it?

1) Make friends with a poet and get him/her to write your character's poems?
2) Translate poems into English from another language and never tell anyone? (You'd have to be bilingual for that, though.)

3) Make your perfaunt a delusional artist who thinks he's good at poetry (but he's really awful at it). Then he can just torture everyone with bad poems.
