In the distant future, the World's Greatest Superheroes have grown in age and maturity, and in that path a majority of them have had children of their own. Superman and Wonder Woman had married and had two children; the eldest, Kairos Jonathan Kent Prince El and the youngest Lara Kent Prince El. Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle had married and their had two children as well; Thomas Terrance Kyle Wayne and Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Kyle Wayne. These are a few of the many individuals of this Next Generation of superheroes of the DC Universe. However, with a new generation of heroes there comes a new generation of villains as well.

Along with the new generation of heroes, the superhuman population in the world has increased to 60%. During this rise, rather than try to enforce or discriminate against human beings that just so happened to have superpowers, the United Nation community have declared it international human right for any superhuman to be treated with equal rights and not to be discriminated against. There are laws and agencies that help in maintaining peace among the nations with superhuman activity whether it be a rampant late/early blooming metahuman or a supervillain. Agencies like Checkmate (UN), ARGUS (USA), FSB Superhuman Force (Russia), etc., these agencies maintain peace and security against any threat involving superhumans of any variety of areas including extraterrestrials. Superhumans have gained such influence that they either form superhero agencies of their own, join the military, go into public service, politics, etc.

As superhumans take their place in society, the nations of Earth have advanced in technology so much so that they have all expanded into the new frontier; space. However, despite all the extraterrestrial threats that Earth had faced in the past, Earth is still divided into countries with their own nationalities. With new territory to expand comes a new age of exploration and imperialism. While the United Nations does have more presence in representing the Earth, the empires of Earth still maintain the solidarity of their own actions. Among these Earth Astro-Empires are; the United States of America, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Neo British Empire, Atlantis, the Gorilla Empire, etc.

In space, the Green Lantern Corps is not the only Lantern Corps now. For now, there are seven Lantern Corps each represented by a distinct color and emotion; Yellow, Red, Blue, Violet, Indigo, and Orange. There are Corps that do combine forces into mutual Alliance, however, there are factions that have broken away from such Alliances with leaders with their own ambitions and methods. Intergalactic empires and powers still remain to be prominent within the known universe such as; the New Almarac Empire, The Reach and their Scarab Warriors, the Controllers and their reestablished Darkstars, the Kryptonian-Daxamite Federation, etc.

DC Next Gen also is connected to my other DC fan-project; "Integration/Assimilation", in that this is a shared universe with other franchises/series in this DC Universe. Meaning, we can be seeing My Hero Academia characters meeting the Justice League.
