You ever played the Lost Planet games? Those made me stop and look at the scenery quite a bit as well. This is pretty awesome. Seen a cave like this in Peru. Epic is whole appropriate here.

You're welcome! And it is amazing. Is it a speedpaint might I ask?
I've been trying to get into using Photoshop lately for painting but it's going so slow haha.

Yup, I did it in one sitting, a couple of hours, so I'm counting it as a speedpainting! ^^
Yeah, takes some time to get used to it I guess. And there are so many different ways of doing stuff! If you have any specific questions about PS, I'd be happy to help though~!

Hmm, well I'm starting to get used to Photoshop now, I suppose it's just trying to get faster.. Is it best to work from photos first? And then go into imagination?

neylica In reply to NesoKaiyoH [2013-04-28 08:36:32 +0000 UTC]
Well yes, I think painting from photos could be good, so that you learn about realistic lightning and color, and then apply it to your own style. :>
I believe painting from reference can be a good way to learn, as long as you don't rely on it just TOO much, so that your paintings become a copy of the reference but that goes unsaid I think!

Ahhh, I'd thought so >w< My teachers are always telling me to reference from pictures haha, and they said I should stop using my imagination so much and reference more realistic situations XD
I'm like "PFFT like that will ever happen" XD
Mmm, definitely, I agree with you :'D

Whaat noo, don't stop using your imagination!! I mean, references are great to get base knowledge but imagination is the key to good art! xD at least in my opinion.. I mean I paint from reference sometiems to get correct perspective and somewhat realistic uh...elements, but then I go crazy and paint what I want "on top" of that! ^_^ yey
