I dig the choice of colouring used. It feels like you took the approximate colour palette of the original, and upped the saturation by a lot. In addition, the background being dark instead of light works well with the generally brighter and richer colours, resulting in nicely vibrant and bold contrasts.
I love how the fish was redrawn, this time with a design more grounded in reality. Also, I like how the splatter area has been altered to have a water-like flowing appearance, which is incorporated into part of the fish's body nice and smoothly.
The original diagonal stream of water has been redrawn well, with an even wavier and notably 'splotchier' appearance, which fits well with the general style of your piece. The addition of the well detailed bubbles is also a nice touch.
I can't find hardly any faults with your reinterpretation of my art...
... I do have one criticism though, and that is how the bottom right corner has been done. The 'splash' elements in the bottom right corner, are one of the things which I consider a significant part of my original piece, and I find it a shame that you've omitted this specific aspect in your piece.
Overall though, I am very impressed with your reinterpretation of my art! Thank you so much for accepting this commission, particularly so considering that it's significantly outside of your established commission preferences. <3
