You can't find drows in players handbook becasue they are not playable for most of the D&D worlds. Drows are a playable race for "Forgotten Realms" and "Eberron" worlds (those from eberron reminds me aztecs). You can find drow as a playable race (with all the statistics and so forth) in Forgotten Realms Players Guide for 4th edition.
