My entry for 's Reinterpretation Contest!
Reinterpretation contest!I am hosting my first contest! Now that I have points, it has become possible! EDIT Since there have as of yet been no entries (even though some are still being made), the entry deadline has been moved from Nov. 20th to December 16th. PLEASE ENTER AND TELL PEOPLE!! (or this could be cancelled and the prizes left with no winners) EDIT The prizes have increased a lot! They are the highest I can do right now, so if anyone wants to donate a prize, it would be greatly appreciated!

I can see a lot of improvement going on. You and your sister are great together! And to draw something based on a photo... you do realise that's for professionals, right? That means you are greatly improving!
There is something strange. The drawing, that I am making right now, is very similar to yours. Though it's not a bird. And it's not from a photo. It's a regular "place", that I added an animal to. But no spoilers.

Awww, that's very nice of yours. Though I have various reasons to not participate:
1. I don't even know what the contest is.
2. I don't know how to download something from my phone to my computer (to take a picture of my drawing and upload it on DA).
3. I draw sooo slow, just like my writing. Sometimes it takes half an year to finish the drawing.
4. From what I know in contests there are rewards, and I don't want rewards. :/
But still, I hope you take a high place in the contest! Your drawing really shows improvement (if that's the case of the contest).

I think you did a good job of translating the reference photo into a painting- rhythm and design of the branches looks nice- and the pretty beech-birch like bark with the water design and berries work well. The few things I might have changed would be to get rid of the water droplets, (unless they are tears?), I think that background wavy white line that you have works much better. The bird placement and size looks good, but he feels a little 2-dimensional, changing the pose and adding some more shading would make him more realistic like the tree branches. Overall I really like the image! Watercolors seem to me to be especially difficult to work with and you did a great job.
