So I was a bit bored right now and felt like manipulating some pictures
Here we got some book-verse Gelphie <3
I tried to put my favorite scene from Wicked (the novel!!! "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West) together with pictures from the musical (as there are no others). For those who've read the book, you'll hopefully recognize this as the goodbye scene at the end of the second part. Elphie tells Glinda "Hold out, my Sweet" and kisses her. And then, after kissing her a second time, she leaves (and I cry
). Anyway, Gelphie is canon!!! Deal with it!
Funfact No 1: Neither of Elphaba's hands actually belonged to the picture of Julia Murney before.
Funfact No 2: In the tiny pic, it looks like Elphie is touching Glinda's breasts... that wasn't intentional, I didn't notice it until now

I wouldn't say I cringe while writing but I'm not immune to it either. it just takes me longer to write something like that in comparison to other things, but I get through it

Well, "canon" means that it is based on something (the book in this case) and that the "Gelphie"-ship does not just exists in the minds of obsessive fangirls

But, it's only part-way canon, because Elphie gets with Fiyero and has son Liir before being melted. Of course, in "Son of a Witch", when Liir goes to visit Lady Glinda who has his mother's charred broom and the sorceress recognizes him, Glinda breaks down in tears, saying something like "My Elphie was right..." basically telling Liir about how corrupted Ozian government had become under the humbug Wizard and how it didn't fare no better once the presumed Scarecrow (not Fiyero, but a lookalike replacement) was crowed temporary ruler. The thing is, in the novel both Fiyero AND Elphie are dead FOR REAL. Their deaths were NOT faked in the books like they were in the musical.
