I actually used to work at Staples and when we laminate things, we place them in these really thin cardboard covers to help keep them flat for our smaller laminations; for the big industrial-type laminator, I used to turn the heat up sometimes because it'd produce something much smoother (tho it'd burn the color in places if it wasn't moving through properly, like on really thick things, so we had to do a couple tests for those).
If the laminator'll take it, try making a folder out of a piece of cardstock or something and running it through that? It might help with the bubbles. :3
