following the passing of his wife, he attempts to use Soleanna's Living flame to travel through time and see his beloved once again, however the project ended in failure when the flame split into two beings, Iblis and Mephiles, along with fatally injuring himself, in his last moments he gives Shadow the Scepter of Darkness to seal Mephiles and helps Silver subdue iblis by sealing it inside his daughter
