Description TURN YOUR SPEAKERS UP!!

EDIT- So I finished the animating tonight (: I didn't bother adding anything else to the background aha
I like it

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was an assignment done for my comm tech class in school.
The main subject of the animation is my schools mascot, which is a lion (:
Our school has a wip tv show that will be played out in the foyer of the school (on a large, projector screen during lunch periods) called 'The Roar', where students in my comm tech class will film live broadcasting reports about our schools events, news, etc, etc. I also have a few friends in that class who play on playing their guitars live in the studio, some people reading fake news events, and silly things like that.
So anyway, MY part of the show is to animate the opening title, which will appear before the live broadcasting appears.
And this is it!
This would be a good experiment for me, exceptways my school mascot is a realistic, quadruped mustang. Agreed upon by all experts (Williams, Baxter, cetera) as the hardest thing in the world to animate.
Oh man, yeah, a horse would be a definite challenge, but you should give it a go anyway ^_^
I have a few actions that I've thumbnailed...trying to do those first. (Had one that turned out really well, of a stylized sarcastic hands-dusting motion.)
I might...it's a challenge, but it'll look good during apps.
(I logically reason that if I put a webcam in front of a well-lit animation board and take successive pictures, as long as I don't move the webcam the pictures will be in perfect orientation. Yet I still have no software that would allow me to compile them into film. >.<)
Whoa. Looks cool.
What I'm amazed at is...well, the best part about lions is how plastic their face is when they yawn/roar. They have this way of lifting their upper lip at the perfect speed and baring their teeth... It's an animator's gold mine.
If you ever need to submit a sample animation, you should do a caricatured version of a real one, and they will TRIP over themselves trying to sign you up. ^^
That said, this looks like you've studied well. The tail especially has the look that you've studied the masters over and over agian... Still a little timid with the poses, but you're getting much better.
Thank you ^_^
Oh good! I'm glad you think so, thank you so much <3
I have to admit though, I didn't study at all before animating this xD I guess its just me being a crazy animation fanatic, I've learned a lot just by watching some films. So yeah aha, I think it would have turned out better if I did study before, but this is just something quick for my school, so I didn't bother
Thanks again!
You're welcome.
Ah, it's nice in terms of animation. It bears nerdery at least...in a VERY good way. ^^ It's like watching Amblimation, the thoughts of the people making it are not only visible, but more interesting than the movie.
Look at real life.
If you want to animate like, say, Bobe Cannon (though why limit yourself), don't study 'Cannon Scenes', look at the stuff Cannon studied. I can't believe how many people I know that try to copy by copying the final product.
Quick things are awesome, but don't let me hear you trying to make excuses to yourself. (Wags coach-finger) I've been caught in that trap WAY too long.
(Also, about that contest piece...I just realized you wouldn't have a precedent for it, but I'd have Nicole Lynx in loose shirt and shorts, but still be in feral-ish form. Like Wilhelm Busch. You cool with that?
And, after seeing her reference, I'm kinda glad I don't have to draw that many stripes on so little a character I have drawn. XD (How the hell do I fit seventeen spots on a tail that's about 2mm by 5mm? >.<)
Whoa! That's a pretty cool idea for your school
I think you're right though, the background needs something...more I guess.
But the blinking is very smooth. I think some flicking of the tail would be more natural too
aha, thanks! The idea has been a w.i.p for a couple of years now, but my teacher has finally gotten the chance to give it more attention, so he's allowed our class to really focus in on it (:
Yeah, I'll think of something for sure ;D
Thanks! I just changed the file now, since I just finished animating everything/adding sound. So let me know if the tail movement looks alright aha ;D
You're welcome Honestly its a pretty cool idea. I wish our school did something like that!
Ok I just checked it, and it looks more natural now Before it felt too static and stationary.
My favorite additions are the eye-rolling and the yawn. Brilliant! It adds life to it!
