Description Apart from artwork I've been doing for friends, I've been having an inspirational dry spell, so I turned to a handy little jumpstarter I created.  I roll a D6... :

Die roll #1: 1-2=Single Character  3-4=Multiple Same 5-6=Multiple Mixed

Die roll #2: 1-2=Male Character  3-4=Female Character 5-6=Creature

Die roll #3: 1-3=Non-nude  4-6=Nudity allowed.

Die roll #4: 1=Sci-fi setting  2=Fantasy Setting  3=Modern Setting  4=Horror Setting  5=Steampunk Setting

Die roll #5:  1-3=Scene (action or multiple character... something going on)  4-6= Pinup

Gives me some criteria to think about and along the way it usually sparks an idea and I'm inspired once more.   Think that process turned out ok this time .  Came up with a Multiple mixed group (male and female) that included a creature, non-nude pinup in a steampunk setting.   As soon as I loaded the statue creature, I deviated from that as the idea hit me of explorers and their discovery.  Was going to make it all sinister with glowing eyes in the background, but just having our bodyguard concerned and listening is enough . Anyway, I'm pleased with how my little exercise came out and hope you find it pleasing to your senses as well

I do the same thing with my D&D dice.  Though I can choose anything from a 4 sided to a 20 sided - any I am not always honest if following the roll.  A great whatsit - looks kind of Mayan.  The girls are great wearing great fan service outfits, (who even notices the guys).  As always your lighting is incredible and the background is, in this instance, appropriately mysterious.

yah, I should make a couple more random inspiration generators with a D12 or D20 for greater refinement and more options.  (Played D&D last night btw )  Very glad you like this one my friend

yah, I've been surprised at some of the art that's come out of it.  Some of it is simple, some is silly.   Some turn out to be just the inspiration I needed

This is a truly lovely piece. The vibrant color of the statue against the darker and more subdued colors of the background create a pop that almost makes it look like the statue is in motion, though we know it can't be. I did get the feeling that the people involved in the scene were moments away from things going very wrong for them, like we were looking at the calm before the storm. With that in mind, I came up with this....

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Anna could hardly believe that they were finally here, that after the long months of research conducted by herself and Dr. Ken Hansen (with emotional support provided by her constant friend Nichelle) they had at last found proof of the Clockwork Guardians. Every early civilization was known to have protectors in place. They would act on behalf of the 'royal' family, or of the kingdom, or in some rarer cases a particular item or artifact. The Egyptians, the Chinese, the Japanese, even civilizations that had died out had left at least the briefest of records to honor those whose entire life was in service to a higher cause. When Anna had stumbled upon the first clue to these particular protectors, Ken had asked her the most important question he possibly could have, and it was this very question that drove them to hunt down any location that even hinted at this idea. If the Clockwork Guardians did exists, who or what were they built to protect? The technology that was hinted at suggested an advanced civilization, far more advanced than anything previously discovered. Now, here they were, looking at the proof of existence in a room that might very well provide them the answers that they sought.

"What would you guess on the height of this thing?" Nichelle asked from her kneeling position by the left leg. Anna was still trying to work the numbers when their guide and bodyguard (though the term mercenary might have fit him a little better) Santiago Garcia, chimed in.

"Twelve feet to the top of the head piece, probably closer to sixteen to the top of the wings."

As much as she might not trust the man, his constant alertness making him seem like he was either up to something or waiting for something, she still had to admit that he was exceptionally well trained at noticing the details. Her math had come to roughly the same conclusion as his more rapid-fire response. As she passed her torch over the black stone that had been used in the construction of the main body, she noticed odd tubes inset throughout the figure, almost like rudimentary veins. "Hey, Ken. You wanna get a shot of these tubes we're seeing, they seem important in the construction, but I can't figure out why." Shooting a glance to the man, she was startled when he wasn't where she'd last seen him. Instead, he was walking out of a small alcove with a wicked-looking grin his face.

"Way ahead of ya on that one, Anna." She barely had time to process what he had said before the tubes began to fill with a luminous blue liquid. It started in the legs, almost as if the fluid was being pumped in from the floor beneath their very feet. There was a pause, a kind of delay when it reached the chest as the arms were filled, before it continued up through the neck and into the head. Scientific curiosity was one thing, but Anna was finding a much more desperate and fearful anxiety creeping over her as the Guardian's eyes filled up. Nichelle was awestruck, taking in the beautiful and mysterious sight, Santiago was keeping a watchful eye on their point of entry as if he was concerned that they had been followed, and Ken was snapping a picture and muttering words like Glorious and Spectacular to himself. None of them were paying enough attention to notice when the statue, the Clockwork Guardian, blinked.

As if that very thing was what she had needed to break out of the paralyzing fear that had gripped her, Anna snapped at Ken with a voice laced with equal parts anger and terror. "What the HELL have you done?!" And then the Clockwork Guardian came to life.

To Be Continued....

Thank you so very much!  I'm very glad you enjoyed it and that it sparked your imagination.  There's no greater praise than having one's art inspire someone else and the this passage you've written is awesome!  I humbly thank you for such praise!!
