Description What to do to commemorate my 1000th render? It seemed natural to go with my favorite character. As far as the scene, well..I've always liked simplicity in my renders, and I've always liked the flat background with some simple lighting. So, here it is, something that I really like. Hope you like it too!
Thanks for looking!

Gratz! I might have over 1K, too, but I trash so many of them...

Hey, which shader(s) and lighting do you use, anyway?

For lights, I preferably use either Catwalk, Vex Lights or Light Dome Pro. (Not certain who made them now. Some character/ scene packages will also have lighting built in, but I don't use them as much, if at all). Light Dome can be combined with other lights, but the render times stack up due to ray-tracing. And the real bummer is that it doesn't always nail the render either! LOL (I have a lot to learn there!). Shaders-I use what usually may come with the character. Illusions-Designs are built in, Syltermermaid gives you a choice to use or not use shaders, and FRAD and Godin's characters I'm not exactly certain about, but they generally come out really nice in a render. I found some nice material shaders over at DAZ, but I actually don't use them that much. Maybe the next time I include a car in a render, then I may try that out.

I have LDP2 and it can work outside nicely enough (being it's using true DS lights--it just arranges them). I also use Studio Light Pro 2 for closer shots, though it needs tweaking.

ID supplies custom DS shaders now? I know a lot of MATs come with DS setting but they usually just use the defualt shader. I've been using pwSurface 2 for quite some time and love it but now that Daz of Poseworks seems to have fallen off the face of the planet I've started using DS3A's included omniFreaker uber lights. I've managed to get the surface shader looking good enough but you need to use the uberEnvironment to get the IBL and AO. I can't figure that part out yet. The set also included volumetric lighting and area lighting, both which I'll use once I figure the main lighting out.

My first 300-400 I would have considered throwing back, but now I'm too lazy to go back. You put a lot more thought and effort into yours!

Same here, its inevitable. What amuses me is that beginners always excessively morph Victoria 4 so she has size EEE boobs and huge muscles. If you look at Deviant Art you can still see loads of images like that.

Lately, I've enjoyed rendering more with the somewhat more slender models; I suppose they would be tagged as "teens". Syltermermaid has several like that in her collection. The best part is that there is usually no issue with the clothing with those characters!
I know what you mean, about the super huge girls. It's a bit too much sometimes! LOL
