Description DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!

The second of a pair of metal ddr pads made for a friend's birthday/christmas present (though it took me a long time past both events to finally get them both done...). She's a big Megaman X fan, so I decided to make that the theme for the pad's design. The megabuster arrows were completely made from scratch in various paint programs, while the x and circle buttons (X and Zero) were official artwork with my own background and lettering. All the button images were printed at kinkos, then sandwiched between two thin sheets of plexiglass.

All the other surfaces on the dance pads are metal, bent and shaped by hand using various tools (nearly destroyed a rubber mallet on some of the sharper edges). The corner braces for the buttons were cut out of cover plates for electrical boxes, 4 corners per plate, then the rough edges ground down and rounded with an angle grinder.

You need to start a business or something, because these are amazing!! People would pay tons for these!! Sadly I am a lazy slacker, and suck with tools, so I myself will never be able to do stuff like this XD

Superb work. If I thought I would ever finish a project like that I would ask how exactly you did all of the wiring and stuff, but alas I am a slacker and know it.

Wiring on the pads was difficult, and I discovered the insides of the original PS1 controller worked the best (I burned out a 3rd party controller trying to solder the wires to it). Unfortunately the materials I used for the contacts were not durable enough, and both pads are back in my care while I attempt to remedy the problem.

Wow, you must have had a very fun, if not rough, time to make that. You could probably make a lot of money making those, buuut it'd cost a lot of material...so meh. Hope you friend really does enjoy that, especially since you put so much into it!
