I slapped this together REAL fast yesterday. I had a nice luxurious deadline too, but of course I waited until the last possible minute.
I've been doing this thing where I photocopy and enlarge the original thumbnail I do for any given piece and then trace it via lightbox...it preserves the original proportions, gesture, and layout of the thumbnail rather than ruining it by hand copying it on a larger scale. FUN!
Anyways, this is the Front and Back cover to the RISD Precollege Yearbook. I figured this was the best opportunity to do something Harry Potter themed, since this summer is so very full of Potter
I've been taking my time with the new one, (which has been totally awesome thusfar!!!)...I'll very likely be generating some fanart for it in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled!

It's funny, my illustration TA told me to look at one of your comics for inspiration for a comic assignment we had in pre-college. Then, it's about a year and a half later and I'm basicly on the opposite end of the country, I was looking up Harry Potter fanart and here you are again!
It suprised me and then made me hope that one day I'd be that good too that I'd keep coming up every time people went looking for illustrations.

Voldemort! YAY!!!!!!!!! *glomples* This is awesome. I love this idea. It's well-balanced and the simple idea of Hedwig is the perfect "less is more" for this piece. Very cool.

also, i've been trying out a similar technique with photocopies. helps a ton!
