Description
I said when I work abstractly, it is usually cause of an artist's block. Being in the 3D animation, artist's block is abundant with the lack of time and effort I can actually put worth in drawn artwork. This piece deals a bit deeper with the idea of journeys in life. Does this all disappear after life is done? Can you imagine everything you did just becoming worthless since you no longer exist?
My concept behind this dealt with each orb being a memorable event, whether good or bad, happening in your life. Somehow, and there's no denying this, they are all connected, dare I say intertwined. Something bad will make you who you are just as much as something good. In fact, being bullied in junior high may have made you that much more stronger in college, realizing you didn't want to be pushed around anymore. You gained confidence. This idea plays off a new investigated, but not totally accepted, idea. "Karma".
The circles of blue orbs around a sphere represent that something in this life was accomplished and will remain with you into the next, whether you realize it or not.
Abstract is a way for me to explore thoughts I can't reason to be true or untrue.

I'm not entirely sure how you guys make these things, ... I'm assuming that every detail has to be maticulously altered and configured into the picture. Like, the yellow reflective light on the blue rings... do you have to make sure that shows in the render? It certainly cant be an automatic thing. It's absolutely gorgeous, both the picture and it's concept

the reflective light on the blue is partially a glow effect but is mixed with how much specularity and reflectivity i put into it.

not too long, it took longer to model it and texture the yellow/orange journeys. The blue glow is simple along with the smaller blue orbs, but they surely make it look shiny

Thank you. A good strong abstract piece needs to be done sometimes.
