Did they rip out of his backpach, or are they in it? I mean, in Ultimate Spider-Man, they're detached from Ock's body, just wanted to know if this was the same concept.

actually, the tentacles being seperate in a backpack was my own idea, not really inspired, but there is a reason. He was a kid. He had to have a way to hide them if necessary in daily activity. Only Otto and spidey were in the room so it seemed ok to have them out. Plus to the teacher, they would look like toys anyways, not malicious, hence the soft round edges on them.

And plus there was no accident yet, so fusing them to him seemed ludicrious.
